2024 Novant Health Charlotte Marathon Spectator Guide

Welcome to the 2024 Novant Health Charlotte Marathon weekend! Your support means everything to the athletes. This guide provides key information to help you have fun, and safely and effectively move throughout the events.

Events Schedule

• Friday, November 15, 2024
  Expo and Packet Pickup: 10 AM – 7 PM at Charlotte Convention Center, Hall C1
• Saturday, November 16, 2024
  • Start Times:
    • Full & Half Marathon, Ruckers, Relays: 7:20 AM (start closes at 7:30 AM)
    • Chick-fil-A 5K: 7:35 AM (start closes at 7:45 AM)

Spectator Preparation

• Dress Comfortably: Wear layers and comfortable shoes.
• Pack Essentials: Bring snacks, water, and a cowbell or noisemaker for support!
• – Cheer Creatively: Costumes, signs and noisemakers are encouraged! Have fun!!

Day of Event Logistics

ARRIVE EARLY: Record crowds anticipated, so plan to arrive 60 to 90 minutes before event start times.

Parking: Reserve parking in advance through SpotHero. Expect road closures near the finish line.

Public Transportation: Utilize local transit options available on the Charlotte CATS website.

Bag Check: (athletes only) Available at S. Mint and MLK; look for the Gentle Giant truck.

Course Information

Start Line Location: 525 S Tryon Street (new this year!)

Spectator Points: Join established cheer stations along the course for maximum support. (See “Cheer Stations” and “Entertainment” on this year’s course maps.

Finish Line Location: 4th Street near Mint Street.

Athlete Tracking

Click TBD link or the results QR code on your athlete’s bib to use the RaceRoster Predictive Athlete Tracking. You’ll be able to follow their location based on checkpoints along the race route.

Expected First Finish Times

• 5K: ~7:55 AM
• Half Marathon: ~8:35 AM
• Full Marathon: ~9:50 AM
